SEE ALSO...

LRP Antibody (1014) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LRP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). LRP (1014) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LRP protein, also known as major vault protein (MVP), plays a critical role in the development of multidrug resistance (MDR) in tumor cells, which is a significant challenge in cancer treatment. LRP protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is a key component of vault ribonucleoprotein complexes, which are involved in the transport of various molecules within the cell. LRP presence in these complexes is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating the transport of untranslated RNA along cytoskeletal tracks, thereby influencing cellular responses to therapeutic agents. LRP overexpression in various cancer cell lines and clinical samples has been linked to the MDR phenotype, making LRP a crucial target for research aimed at overcoming drug resistance in cancer therapy. LRP unique structure, including alternative splice variants, contributes to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms, highlighting LRP importance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
