SEE ALSO...

LOXL2 Antibody (3C5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects LOXL2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LOXL2 antibody (3C5) is available as a non-conjugated format. The lysyl oxidase (LOX) family of enzymes, which includes LOXL2, plays a crucial role in modifying extracellular matrix components, particularly in forming cross-links in collagen and elastin. This cross-linking maintains structural integrity and elasticity of tissues, vital for proper organ function and tissue repair. LOXL2 localizes to sites of elastogenesis, acting as a cross-linking enzyme, facilitating elastin deposition and interacting with Fibulin-5 to regulate elastin assembly. LOXL2 has been implicated in various cellular processes, including tumor suppression and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, a critical event in cancer progression. LOXL2 interaction with Snail protein can lead to E-cadherin downregulation, promoting invasive characteristics in epithelial cells. Studies have shown that LOXL2 knockdown significantly reduces tumor growth, highlighting LOXL2′s potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Aspecific BandsI have used this Ab for Western Blot,1:1000, on MDA-MB-231 cells extracts. The signal is not well defined because there are a lot of specific bands although it is possible to clearly identified the protein of interest (LOXL2).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fair featuresBlocked in 5% BSA-TBST 1:500. Incubated in primary overnight in cold room. Tested on Murine Fallopian Tube Tissue and Human Ovarian Cell Lines.Worked in both but worked better on human cell lines and there are a lot of non-specific bands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No signal on western blotsTested this antibody twice in western blots with various tumor samples that vary from none to high levels of LOXL2 as determined by mass spectrometry; no signal detected in western blot when used in conjunction with SCBT Kappa-binding-HRP as secondary.
