LMP2 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects LMP2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMP2 is a crucial component of the proteasome, a multicatalytic proteinase complex that plays a vital role in the regulated degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various cellular processes, including the cell cycle and apoptosis. The proteasome is located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, where proteasome assembles into a highly ordered ring-shaped structure composed of at least 15 nonidentical subunits. This structural organization is essential for proteasome function, as proteasome allows for efficient processing of proteins into peptides that can be presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, thus playing a significant role in immune response. Upon stimulation with interferon-gamma, LMP2, along with LMP7, replaces housekeeping subunits in the proteasome, enhancing proteasome ability to activate cytotoxic T cells. LMP2 expression is regulated by alternative splicing, resulting in two forms, LMP2.l and LMP2.s, which are produced in lymphoblastoid cell lines and fibroblasts following interferon-gamma stimulation. Anti-LMP2 antibody (F-10) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the proteasome′s role in cellular regulation and immune response, providing insights into the mechanisms of protein degradation and implications in various diseases.
