Lipin-1 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Lipin-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Lipin-1 (B-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Lipin-1 plays a pivotal role in lipid metabolism and energy homeostasis, functioning as a phosphatidate phosphatase that converts phosphatidate to diacylglycerol, a key step in triglyceride synthesis. This enzymatic activity is crucial for the regulation of lipid storage and mobilization, impacting overall metabolic health. Dysregulation of Lipin-1 can lead to metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance and lipodystrophy, highlighting Lipin-1′s importance in maintaining normal adipose tissue function. The Lipin family, which includes Lipin-1, Lipin-2, and Lipin-3, is characterized by a conserved structure that includes a nuclear signal sequence and distinct functional domains, allowing Lipin-1 to interact with various nuclear receptors and transcription factors to modulate gene expression related to lipid metabolism.
