LIN-9 Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LIN-9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-LIN-9 antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LIN-9, also referred to as TGS, BARA, or TGS1, is a 542 amino acid protein that is primarily localized in the nucleoplasm and serves as a mammalian homolog of the C. elegans Lin-9 protein. LIN-9 is predominantly expressed in the testis and thymus, where LIN-9 plays a crucial role as a component of the DREAM complex, which is essential for the repression of cell cycle-dependent genes. LIN-9 functions as a tumor suppressor by associating with the retinoblastoma protein (Rb) to inhibit DNA synthesis, thereby regulating the expression of genes necessary for the G1/S cell cycle transition. Notably, LIN-9 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in three distinct isoforms, which may have different regulatory roles in cellular processes. The gene encoding LIN-9 is located on human chromosome 1, a region that spans 260 million base pairs and contains over 3,000 genes, representing nearly 8% of the human genome, highlighting the significance of LIN-9 in cellular regulation and its potential implications in cancer biology.
