LIMK-1 Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LIMK-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LIMK-1 (H-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LIMK-1, a member of the LIM kinase family, plays a crucial role in regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics, which is essential for cell motility, morphogenesis, and neuronal differentiation. LIMK-1 phosphorylates and inactivates Cofilin, a protein that severs actin filaments, promoting F-actin structure stabilization. This regulation maintains cellular architecture and facilitates cellular responses to external signals. LIMK-1 influences cell fate determination and growth control pathways, highlighting developmental process importance. Differential expression of LIMK-1 and LIMK-2 suggests distinct developmental roles, with LIMK-1 specifically inhibiting neuronal differentiation in PC12 cells by interfering with downstream events of mitogen-activated protein kinase activation.
