SEE ALSO...

LI-cadherin Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LI-cadherin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LI-cadherin antibody (H-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LI-cadherin, also known as CDH17, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, particularly in the liver and intestine, where LI-cadherin is localized to the basolateral domain of hepatocytes and enterocytes. This localization maintains the integrity of epithelial tissues and facilitates intercellular communication, essential for proper tissue function and organization. LI-cadherin′s structure includes a large extracellular domain composed of five homologous repeats, critical for binding specificity, while a short intracellular domain interacts with cytoplasmic proteins like catenin beta to regulate cadherin function. The restricted expression of LI-cadherin to liver and intestinal tissues underscores LI-cadherin′s importance in these organs, making LI-cadherin monoclonal antibody (H-1) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cellular adhesion mechanisms and tissue architecture in health and disease.

Can LI-cadherin (H-1): sc-393533 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, LI-cadherin (H-1): sc-393533 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
