Leupaxin Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects leupaxin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Leupaxin, also known as LDPL or LPXN, is a 386 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the paxillin family, characterized by four leucine-rich LD-motifs at the N-terminus and four LIM domains at the C-terminus. Leupaxin is predominantly expressed in lymphoid tissues, including the spleen, lymph nodes, thymus, and appendix, while exhibiting lower levels in bone marrow and fetal liver. The structural composition of leupaxin facilitates interaction with focal adhesion kinase family member PYK2, forming a complex that plays a significant role in cell type-specific signaling and regulation at adhesion sites. Leupaxin serves as a substrate for tyrosine kinases in lymphoid cells, indicating involvement in tyrosine kinase-mediated signaling pathways. Additionally, leupaxin has been identified as a potential progression marker for certain subsets of prostate cancer and may function as a novel coactivator of the androgen receptor, highlighting importance in cancer biology and therapeutic targeting.
