LETM1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects LETM1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LETM1, or leucine zipper-EF-hand-containing transmembrane protein 1, is a 739 amino acid protein localized to the mitochondrial membrane, where LETM1 plays a crucial role in maintaining mitochondrial function and overall cell viability. LETM1 features a unique structure that includes one LETM1 domain and two EF-hand calcium-binding domains, which are essential for LETM1′s potential function as a calcium-binding protein. The presence of a leucine zipper motif and multiple phosphorylation sites further highlights LETM1′s regulatory capabilities within the cell. Notably, LETM1 is expressed in all fetal and adult tissues, and human LETM1 shares 84% similarity with the mouse counterpart, indicating a conserved function across species. Importantly, deletions in the gene encoding LETM1 have been linked to Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a congenital disorder characterized by various abnormalities, including mental retardation, seizures, and heart defects, underscoring LETM1′s significance in developmental processes and cellular health. Anti-LETM1 antibody (B-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating LETM1′s role in health and disease.
