    SEE ALSO...

LETM1 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LETM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-LETM1 antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LETM1, or leucine zipper-EF-hand-containing transmembrane protein 1, mitochondrial, is a 739 amino acid protein primarily localized to the mitochondrial membrane, where LETM1 plays a crucial role in maintaining mitochondrial function and overall cellular health. LETM1 features a leucine zipper motif, a transmembrane domain, and two EF-hand calcium-binding domains, which are essential for potential function as a calcium-binding protein. Phosphorylation sites within LETM1 suggest possible post-translational modifications that could regulate activity and interactions. Deletions in the gene encoding LETM1 have been linked to Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a congenital disorder characterized by various developmental abnormalities, including cognitive impairment and organ malformations, highlighting LETM1′s importance in normal physiological processes. Human LETM1 shares 84% similarity with mouse LETM1, indicating a conserved function across species, making LETM1 (D-5) antibody a valuable tool for studying mitochondrial dynamics and related pathologies in diverse biological contexts.

Can LETM1 (D-5): sc-271235 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, LETM1 (D-5): sc-271235 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
