LCMT1 Antibody (4A4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LCMT1 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-LCMT1 antibody (4A4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LCMT1, or leucine carboxyl methyltransferase 1, plays a crucial role in regulating protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), a serine/threonine phosphatase essential for cell growth and proliferation. The methylation of PP2A catalytic subunit (PP2Aα) C-terminal leucine by LCMT1 represents a key post-translational modification influencing PP2A activity, impacting various cellular processes, including mitotic progression and cell survival. Dysregulation of LCMT1 and PP2A interaction has been implicated in tumor progression, highlighting LCMT1′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment. LCMT1 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular signaling pathways.
