LASS6 Antibody (L-18) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects LASS6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LASS6 antibody (L-18) is available as the non-conjugated form. The LASS (longevity assurance homolog) family, which includes six characterized members (LASS1 through LASS6), plays a crucial role in sphingolipid synthesis, a vital process for cellular signaling and membrane integrity. LASS6, a 384 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum, is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating apoptosis. Notably, the N-terminal asparagine residue of LASS6 undergoes glycosylation on the luminal side of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, which is important for its stability and function. In cells lacking CLN9, LASS6 has been shown to restore growth and apoptosis regulation while increasing levels of short ceramide species, such as C14:0- and C16:0-ceramides, highlighting its significance in lipid metabolism and potential therapeutic applications in related disorders.
