LASP-1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects LASP-1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LASP-1, also known as MLN50, is a 261 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating actin-associated cytoskeletal organization, as LASP-1 interacts with F-Actin and localizes to both cytoplasm and cytoskeleton. LASP-1 features one SH3 domain, one LIM zinc-binding domain, and two nebulin repeats, which are essential for structural integrity and functional interactions. Notably, LASP-1 undergoes post-translational phosphorylation, a modification that may influence actin-related ion transport activities in epithelial cells, highlighting LASP-1′s importance in cellular signaling and function. LASP-1 overexpression has been linked to breast cancer, indicating LASP-1′s potential role in tumor transformation and metastasis, making LASP-1 a significant target for cancer research. The gene encoding LASP-1 is located on human chromosome 17, which encompasses over 2.5% of the human genome and contains more than 1,200 genes, further underscoring LASP-1′s biological relevance in various cellular processes.
