    SEE ALSO...

LARS2 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LARS2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LARS2 Antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LARS2, also known as leucyl-tRNA synthetase 2, mitochondrial, is a 903 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in protein synthesis by catalyzing the aminoacylation of leucine to tRNA(Leu) through a two-step reaction. This process begins with the activation of leucine by LARS2 in the presence of ATP, forming an adenylate intermediate that subsequently transfers the activated leucine to the 3′-end of the target tRNA. The specific sequence and orientation of the variable loop in tRNA(Leu) are essential for interaction with LARS2, highlighting the importance of this protein′s structure in ensuring accurate protein synthesis. Dysregulation of LARS2 has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, where LARS2 is thought to be over-expressed in an attempt to facilitate the aminoacylation of a mutated form of tRNA(Leu). Additionally, LARS2′s upregulation has been associated with diabetes, suggesting a potential role in glucose intolerance.
