SEE ALSO...

LAP3 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LAP3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LAP3 (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LAP3, also known as leucine aminopeptidase 3, is a 519 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in protein metabolism by catalyzing the removal of N-terminal proline residues from peptides, which is essential for proper turnover and processing of intracellular proteins. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various biological processes, including protein degradation and signaling pathways. LAP3 is located in the cytoplasm and exists as a homohexamer, utilizing zinc as a cofactor for catalytic function. The gene encoding LAP3 is situated on human chromosome 4, a region known for significant gene deserts and associations with various genetic disorders, including Huntington′s disease and polycystic kidney disease. Multiple isoforms of LAP3 arise from alternative splicing, further underscoring the complexity and regulatory potential of this important protein.
