LAMP-2 Antibody (ABL-93) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody raised against glycoprotein fractions purified from the BALB/c mouse embryo 3T3 cell line, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human species. Anti-LAMP-2 antibody (ABL-93) is validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LAMP-2, also known as CD107B, is a lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in lysosomal function and cellular homeostasis. LAMP-2 is a type I transmembrane protein that helps maintain lysosomal integrity, acidity, and protects lysosomal membranes from degradation. LAMP-2 is also involved in autophagy, mediating the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes, which is essential for the degradation and recycling of cellular components. Dysregulation of LAMP-2 is implicated in lysosomal storage disorders, such as Danon disease, and may contribute to altered lysosomal function in cancer and other diseases. LAMP-2 is sorted at the trans-Golgi network and trafficked intracellularly, highlighting its role in cellular transport and lysosomal biogenesis. LAMP-2 monoclonal antibody (ABL-93) is a valuable tool for studying LAMP-2′s function in lysosomal maintenance, autophagy, and disease processes.

Which part of the LAMP2 does this antibody recognizes? Luminal side or extracellular epitope?

Asked by: Miho
sc-20004 LAMP-2 (ABL-93) has not been epitope mapped. Here a link for more information on the protien : https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P17047/entry#function

Can LAMP-2 (ABL-93): sc-20004 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, LAMP-2 (ABL-93) is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC, Alexa Fluor® 405, AlexaFluor 488 and AlexaFluor 647.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I don't think this is a right pattern for LAMP2I got the sample sack two weeks ago. Antibody for detecting mouse specifical LAMP2 is not easy to look for. Although I got the same signal as in the product description, I don't think it is a right pattern for LAMP2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works ok for IHC\DC 2.4 cells (murine) cells. It however worked with the 2' AB specifically that can recognize IgG2b form. It did not work well in my hand with IgG (H+L) 2' Abs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good result of WBI use this antibody detect mosue brain tissue expression the target protein.we recommend transferred the protein onto PVDF membranes with a semi-dry transfer method, and check and confirm the proteinis transfer to the membrance successfully, then incubate the antibody with the membrance for 1hour at RT ,the expose time shoudnot be too long,it may cause dark background.
