Laminin-R Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Laminin-R of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Laminin-R antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Laminin-R, also known as colon carcinoma laminin-binding protein, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration, which are essential processes in tissue development and repair, as well as in cancer metastasis. Laminin-R′s heterodimeric structure is similar to other extracellular matrix protein receptors, such as Fibronectin and Vitronectin, allowing facilitation of interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix. Laminin-R is incorporated into lysosomal membranes, enabling lysosomes to attach to surfaces coated with Laminin, thereby influencing cellular uptake and degradation processes. Laminin-R expression is significantly upregulated in aggressive carcinomas, particularly in colon cancer, where Laminin-R is found at nine-fold higher levels compared to adjacent normal colonic epithelium. This upregulation highlights Laminin-R′s potential as a biomarker for cancer progression and a target for therapeutic intervention.
