SEE ALSO...

KOR-1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KOR-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KOR-1 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KOR-1, also known as the kappa-type opioid receptor, plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of endogenous opioid peptides and exogenous opiates, such as morphine. Located primarily in the central nervous system, KOR-1 is involved in modulating pain perception, stress response, and emotional regulation. KOR-1 activation leads to a cascade of intracellular signaling events that can inhibit neurotransmitter release, thereby influencing various brain functions. KOR-1 receptor is part of the G-protein-coupled receptor superfamily, which is characterized by seven transmembrane domains and ability to interact with G-proteins. Understanding KOR-1 structure and function is essential for developing targeted therapies for pain management and mood disorders, as well as for exploring potential roles in addiction and other neuropsychiatric conditions.

Says this antibody is recommended for the detection of mouse KOR and can be used with immunofluorescence. Just wondering if there are any additional steps recommended for using anti-mouse antibody on mouse tissue?

Asked by: Kelly1234
Thank you very much for the question! For IF staining of IgG-rich mouse Samples we suggest using our conjugated Mouse IgG kappa binding proteins e.g. Conjugated to CFL 488 sc-516190 or -FITC instead of conventional anti-mouse secondary antibodies. Our labs have excellent experience with this reagent and we have a lot of supporting customer feedback as well. Of course you always also could place a special order for a directly -CFL488 conjugated KOR primary antibody with our Special Orders department. A directly conjugated primary antibody will of course be a suitable approach as well.

How should the blocking peptide sc-374479 P be used? What is the protocol?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control. The full protocol can be found on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
