SEE ALSO...

KIR6.2 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects KIR6.2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIR6.2 antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIR6.2 protein functions as a critical component of ATP-sensitive potassium channels, linking cellular metabolism to electrical activity. ATP-sensitive potassium channels primarily reside in pancreatic beta cell plasma membranes, regulating insulin secretion in response to glucose levels. Mutations in KIR6.2-encoding genes can lead to disorders with unregulated insulin release, contributing to conditions like congenital hyperinsulinism. KIR6.2 protein forms a hetero-octameric complex with sulfonylurea receptor (SUR), and interaction between these subunits enables channel activity and regulation. KIR6.2 intracellular domains participate in channel gating mechanisms, proving significant for understanding physiological and pathophysiological roles in various tissues.

Can the peptide sc-390104 P be used in Western Blot as a positive control?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide sc-390104 P is a short synthetic peptide intended for use as a negative control by preadsorption. It is not appropriate for use as a positive control in Western Blot.
