    SEE ALSO...

KIR4.2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KIR4.2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KIR4.2 monoclonal antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIR4.2, also known as KCNJ15, is a member of the inwardly rectifying potassium channel family, which is essential for maintaining the resting membrane potential and regulating potassium ion flow into cells. This function is particularly important in excitable tissues, such as the brain and heart, where precise ion balance is crucial for normal physiological activity. KIR4.2 is expressed in various human tissues, including the kidney, lung, heart, thymus, and thyroid during development, and KIR4.2′s gene is located on chromosome 21, which is significant in the context of Down syndrome, as alterations in expression may contribute to the pathogenesis of this condition. Additionally, KIR4.2 interacts with other potassium channels, such as Kir5.1, to form functional channels in the kidney and pancreas, highlighting KIR4.2′s role in cellular ion homeostasis and signaling pathways.
