KIF16B Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects KIF16B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIF16B antibody (H-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIF16B, also known as kinesin family member 16B or sorting nexin-23, is a 1,317 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one forkhead-associated domain, one kinesin motor domain, and one phosphoinositide-binding PX domain, which are essential for its function as a microtubule-dependent motor protein. This protein is primarily located in early endosomes at the ends of microtubules, where KIF16B plays a critical role in regulating the motility of these organelles, thus influencing the balance between endosomal recycling and degradation. Proper functioning of KIF16B is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as KIF16B facilitates the transport of various cellular components, including organelles and vesicles, which are crucial for processes such as cell division and membrane trafficking. Notably, KIF16B is subject to alternative splicing, resulting in the expression of five distinct isoforms, each potentially contributing to diverse functional roles within the cell.
