KID Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KID protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-KID antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KID protein, also known as kinesin-like DNA-binding protein, plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in spindle formation and chromosome movement during mitosis and meiosis, by binding to microtubules and DNA. KID (B-9) antibody recognizes a unique structure featuring a kinesin-like motor domain in the N-terminal half, which is essential for movement along microtubules, while the C-terminal helix-hairpin-helix DNA-binding domain allows interaction with DNA, highlighting dual functionality in both mitotic spindle dynamics and genomic stability. KID protein′s subcellular localization varies significantly during cell division, which underscores importance in ensuring accurate chromosome segregation and maintaining cellular integrity.

Can KID (B-9): sc-390640 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, KID (B-9): sc-390640 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
