SEE ALSO...

Keratin 25 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Keratin 25 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Keratin 25 (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Keratin 25, also known as KRT25A or KRT25, is a 450 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of epithelial tissues. KRT25 is essential for the proper assembly of type I and type II keratin protein complexes, which are vital for the formation of keratin intermediate filaments. These filaments provide mechanical support and resilience to cells, particularly in the skin and scalp, where KRT25 is strongly expressed. KRT25 exists as a heterotetramer composed of two type I and two type II keratins, and interacts specifically with Cytokeratin 6, highlighting KRT25′s importance in the formation of the inner root sheath of hair follicles. KRT25′s ability to form stable complexes is critical for maintaining the structural framework of epithelial cells, making KRT25 a significant target for studies related to skin and hair biology.
