SEE ALSO...

KCTD12 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects KCTD12 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KCTD12 (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KCTD12, also known as potassium channel tetramerisation domain containing 12, is a 325 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in fetal organs, with highest expression levels found in the cochlea and brain, while showing minimal presence in adult tissues such as the brain and lung. KCTD12 plays a crucial role in regulating potassium channels, which are essential for maintaining electrical excitability of cells, particularly in the nervous system. Proper functioning of KCTD12 is vital for neuronal signaling and overall cellular homeostasis, making KCTD12 an important factor in understanding various neurological conditions. KCTD12 has been identified as a prognostic biomarker for gastrointestinal stromal tumors, highlighting KCTD12′s significance in cancer research and potential therapeutic applications.

Could you explain to me why the Western Blot analysis shows what appears to be a doublet? I can see it in the datasheet images and in my blots but I would like to know the reason. Thank you!

Asked by: ev0292
Thank you for your question. The predicted molecular weight for KCTD12 is approximately 36 kDa. The appearance of a doublet may be the result of some post-translational modification of the protein, such as phosphorylation.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271855 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
