SEE ALSO...

karyopherin β1 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects karyopherin beta 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-karyopherin β1 antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. karyopherin beta 1 protein plays a crucial role in nuclear transport of proteins, functioning as an adapter that facilitates translocation of cargo proteins across the nuclear envelope. This process maintains cellular function by regulating localization of proteins essential for gene expression, cell cycle progression, and signal transduction. karyopherin β1 interacts with karyopherin α1 to form a complex that recognizes and docks substrates at the nuclear pore complex, ensuring only properly tagged proteins are imported into the nucleus. karyopherin β1 has been implicated in transport of various viral proteins, such as Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1, highlighting significance in both cellular and viral biology. These interactions underscore importance in cellular homeostasis and potential implications in disease states where nuclear transport is disrupted.
