K-Ras Antibody (3B10-2F2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody. Anti-K-Ras antibody (3B10-2F2) is raised against full-length recombinant human K-Ras protein, and demonstrates reactivity with human K-Ras in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). K-Ras protein is a crucial member of the Ras family of small GTPases, acting as a molecular switch in signal transduction pathways that regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. K-Ras functions by cycling between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state, a process tightly controlled by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs). Proper functioning of K-Ras is essential for normal cellular responses to growth signals, however, mutations in the KRAS gene, particularly at codons 12, 13, and 61, can lead to constitutive activation of K-Ras protein. This aberrant activation results in continuous cell division and survival signaling, contributing significantly to the development and progression of various cancers, including pancreatic, colorectal, and lung cancers. Understanding the role of K-Ras in oncogenesis is vital for cancer research and the development of targeted therapies. K-Ras monoclonal antibody (3B10-2F2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers aiming to detect and study K-Ras expression and function in both normal and diseased states, thereby advancing insights into cancer mechanisms and aiding in the creation of effective therapeutic strategies.
