  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 159-183 at the C-terminus of K-Ras-2A of human origin
  • recommended for detection of K-Ras-2A p21 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • Anti-KRAS Antibody (B-12) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for KRAS Antibody (B-12) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with KRAS Antibody (B-12) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

K-Ras-2A Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 159-183 at the C-terminus of human K-Ras-2A, a crucial member of the Ras family of small GTPases. Anti-K-Ras-2A antibody (B-12) recognizes an epitope within this C-terminal region and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting K-Ras in human, mouse, and rat samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. K-Ras functions as a sophisticated molecular switch in cellular signaling pathways through a carefully regulated cycle between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states. This cycling mechanism enables K-Ras to transmit signals from cell surface receptors to downstream effectors such as RAF kinases and PI3K, orchestrating fundamental cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, and survival. The precision of this regulatory system proves essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as mutations at specific positions (particularly codons 12, 13, and 61) can lock K-Ras in its active state. These mutations lead to persistent activation of proliferative signaling pathways, driving the development and progression of various cancers, including pancreatic, colorectal, and lung cancers. Through these diverse cellular functions and critical role in oncogenesis, K-Ras-2A (B-12) antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool for investigating both normal signaling mechanisms and cancer biology pathways, ultimately supporting the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
