Junctophilin-2 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Junctophilin-2 (JPH2) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-JPH2 antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JPH2 plays a crucial role in forming junctional complexes between the plasma membrane and the endoplasmic or sarcoplasmic reticulum, which are essential for proper functioning of excitable cells, particularly in cardiac and skeletal muscle. JPH2′s unique structure includes a cytoplasmic domain that interacts with the plasma membrane and a hydrophobic C-terminal segment that spans the endoplasmic reticulum or sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane, facilitating calcium signaling and excitation-contraction coupling in muscle cells. Absence of JPH2 in mutant mice leads to embryonic lethality and abnormal calcium transients in cardiac myocytes, underscoring JPH2′s vital role in cardiac function and development. The three subtypes of junctophilins—JPH1, JPH2, and JPH3—exhibit distinct expression patterns, with JPH2 being predominantly found in heart and skeletal muscle, while JPH3 is primarily expressed in the brain.
