JMY Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects JMY protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). JMY (G-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JMY protein plays a crucial role as a nuclear cofactor for the p300 and CREB-binding protein (CBP) coactivators, which are essential for transcriptional activation of various genes, particularly in response to cellular stress. JMY enhances activation of p53 protein, a key regulator of cell cycle and apoptosis, by facilitating recruitment of p300/CBP complexes to p53 target genes. This interaction is vital because p53, when activated, induces transcription of genes critical for growth arrest and apoptosis, such as waf1/cip1, bax, mdm2, and gadd45. JMY′s ability to modulate p53 activity is further complicated by multiple isoforms generated through alternative splicing, which can differentially influence p53 responses, with some isoforms significantly enhancing p53-mediated transcriptional activation. Disruption of p300 and JMY complexes can inhibit p53-induced transcription of pro-apoptotic genes like bax, thereby blocking apoptosis and potentially contributing to tumorigenesis.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with JMY (G-11): sc-166030?

We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems.
