JMJD5 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects JMJD5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). JMJD5, or jumonji domain containing 5, is a crucial nuclear protein that functions as a histone lysine demethylase, playing a significant role in the regulation of gene expression by modifying histones. JMJD5 is particularly important because JMJD5 is involved in maintaining genomic stability; the C. elegans homolog of JMJD5 has been shown to protect the genome against insertions and deletions, suggesting that mammalian JMJD5 may also act as a tumor suppressor. Notably, studies have demonstrated that knockdown of JMJD5 expression in mouse fibroblasts results in an increased mutation rate and heightened tolerance to MNNG, a DNA methylating agent, indicating JMJD5′s potential involvement in DNA mismatch repair mechanisms.
