JMJD1A Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects JMJD1A in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). JMJD1A, also known as TSGA (testis-specific protein A), JMJD1, KDM3A, or JHDM2A, is a crucial member of the JHDM2 histone demethylase family, primarily expressed in the testis. JMJD1A contains a JMJC domain and a C-terminal C2HC4 zinc finger, which are essential for functioning as a mono- and dimethylation-specific demethylase. By binding iron and α-ketoglutarate as cofactors, JMJD1A demethylates Lysine 9 of Histone H3, thereby influencing the histone code and playing a significant role in nuclear hormone receptor-mediated transcriptional regulation. JMJD1A′s importance extends beyond transcriptional control; JMJD1A is vital for regulating cell growth during development and chromatin dynamics.
