JAM-A Antibody (1H2A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody raised against a recombinant JAM fusion protein of human origin, specifically detecting JAM-A of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Junctional Adhesion Molecule A (JAM-A), also known as JAM-1 or F11 Receptor (F11R), is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily involved in cell-cell adhesion at tight junctions of epithelial and endothelial cells. JAM-A functions to regulate paracellular permeability and maintain cell polarity, which are essential for tissue integrity and barrier function. JAM-A′s location at tight junctions allows for homophilic interactions, contributing to the formation and maintenance of these specialized cell-cell contacts. Structurally, JAM-A is a type I transmembrane protein with two extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains that facilitate adhesion and signaling. JAM-A′s cytoplasmic tail contains a PDZ-binding motif that interacts with scaffold proteins like ZO-1, AF-6, and PAR-3, linking to the actin cytoskeleton and intracellular signaling pathways. This structural arrangement is important for the organization of tight junctions and the modulation of leukocyte transmigration during inflammatory responses. Anti-JAM-A antibody (1H2A9) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying cell adhesion, tight junction integrity, and immune cell trafficking, aiding in the understanding of mechanisms underlying vascular permeability and inflammation.

Can JAM-A (1H2A9): sc-53624 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, JAM-A (1H2A9): sc-53624 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
