IVD Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (IVD) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IVD antibody (B-9) targets a 423 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene IVD, which is a crucial component of the mitochondrial matrix and belongs to the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family. IVD functions as a homotetrameric flavoenzyme, playing a vital role in the metabolism of branched-chain amino acids by catalyzing the conversion of isovaleryl-CoA to 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA. This enzymatic activity contributes to energy production and maintains metabolic homeostasis. Defects in the IVD gene can lead to ineffective isoforms, resulting in isovaleric acidemia, a metabolic disorder with severe health implications. Two recognized forms of this condition exist: the acute neonatal form, which can lead to rapid metabolic acidosis and death shortly after birth, and a chronic form presenting with intermittent severe ketoacidosis. Understanding IVD function is essential for developing therapeutic strategies for managing these metabolic disorders, making IVD (B-9) monoclonal antibody a valuable research tool.
