IRF-1 Antibody (20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects interferon regulatory factor-1 (IRF-1) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-IRF-1 antibody (20) recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a transcriptional activator for type I interferons, which are vital for the antiviral response and regulation of immune cell activity. IRF-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where IRF-1 binds to specific DNA sequences in the promoters of interferon-α and interferon-β genes, thereby influencing their expression. IRF-1 (20) monoclonal antibody targets a protein essential for proper immune system functioning, as IRF-1 helps to initiate and sustain the antiviral state in cells. IRF-1′s interaction with IRF-2, which acts as a repressor, highlights the delicate balance of regulatory mechanisms that govern immune responses. The dynamic interplay between these two factors is critical, as overexpression of IRF-2 can lead to cell transformation, while increased levels of IRF-1 can reverse this effect, underscoring IRF-1′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and immune integrity.

I am using IRF-1 (20): sc-135952 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
