IRAP Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects IRAP (Insulin-responsive aminopeptidase) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IRAP is a 1,025 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in the placenta, heart, kidney, and small intestine, with lower expression levels found in neuronal cells of the brain, skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, testis, and colon. IRAP is a member of the peptidase M1 family and plays a crucial role in the degradation of important hormones, including oxytocin, vasopressin, and angiotensin III, which are vital for maintaining homeostasis during pregnancy and regulating various physiological processes. IRAP is involved in the trafficking of the insulin-responsive glucose transporter Glut4, thereby influencing glucose uptake in cells, which is essential for metabolic regulation. IRAP interacts with Tankyrase-1 and Tankyrase-2, which are significant signaling targets of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) in the Golgi apparatus, highlighting IRAP′s role in cellular signaling pathways. The presence of three isoforms due to alternative splicing further underscores the complexity and functional diversity of IRAP, making anti-IRAP antibody (E-12) an invaluable tool for researchers studying IRAP′s multifaceted roles in health and disease.
