SEE ALSO...

Intersectin Antibody (29) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Intersectin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Intersectin antibody (29) is available as a non-conjugated format. Intersectin, also known as Ese1 or ITSN1, plays a crucial role in cellular endocytic machinery, which is essential for membrane protein internalization and signaling pathway regulation. Intersectin (29) antibody recognizes a protein characterized by two N-terminal Ese15 homology (EH) domains, a central highly charged region, and five C-terminal SH3 domains. This structural arrangement enables Intersectin′s localization to Clathrin-coated pits at the plasma membrane through EH domains, while SH3 domains facilitate interactions with other endocytosis-related proteins, such as Dynamin. The central domain binds to SNAP 25, underscoring Intersectin′s importance in synaptic transmission and vesicle trafficking. Intersectin exists in two isoforms: Intersectin-short and Intersectin-long, produced through alternative splicing, with the long form specifically expressed in neurons and the short form found in glial and non-neuronal cells. Related proteins Intersectin-2 and murine homolog Ese2 share similar structural features and participate in endocytic scaffolding complex formation, highlighting Intersectin′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and communication.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using Intersectin (29): sc-136242?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
