Integrin β4 Antibody (A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Integrin beta 4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Integrin β4 antibody (A9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Integrins, which are heterodimers formed from noncovalently associated transmembrane α and β subunits, play a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling. Specifically, Integrin β4 (ITGB4), also known as CD104, is a single-pass type I membrane protein consisting of 1,822 amino acids and is primarily expressed in epithelial tissues. ITGB4 associates with Integrin α6 to form a receptor for Laminin, a key component of the extracellular matrix that influences cell behavior, including migration, differentiation, and survival. The interaction between ITGB4 and Laminin is vital for maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial tissues and facilitating communication between cells and their microenvironment. Additionally, ITGB4 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 17q25.1 and exists in five alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting its functional diversity and importance in various biological processes.
