INSM1 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects INSM1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). INSM1, also known as insulinoma-associated protein 1 or zinc finger protein IA-1, is a crucial transcription factor that plays a significant role in neuroendocrine differentiation, particularly during embryonic development. INSM1 is primarily localized in the nucleus, where INSM1 regulates gene expression essential for the formation of neuroendocrine tissues. INSM1 (C-1) antibody serves as a valuable marker for cancer research since INSM1 is not found in normal adult tissues but is highly expressed in neuroendocrine tumors. Structurally, INSM1 features five Cys(2)-His(2)-type zinc finger DNA binding domains, which facilitate interaction with specific DNA sequences, allowing INSM1 to act as a transcriptional repressor of the Neuro D promoter. Additionally, INSM1 recruits cyclin D1 as a co-repressor, underscoring INSM1′s role in the regulation of cell cycle progression and differentiation. The gene encoding INSM1 is directly regulated by Neurogenin 3, which binds to the INSM1 promoter region and induces transcription, highlighting the intricate network of regulatory mechanisms that govern neuroendocrine development. Anti-INSM1 antibody (C-1) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the molecular pathways involved in neuroendocrine differentiation and tumorigenesis.
