INPP5F Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects INPP5F protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). INPP5F (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. INPP5F protein, also known as inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase F or phosphatidylinositide phosphatase SAC2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by regulating levels of inositol phosphates, which are vital for neuronal survival and the transduction of signals from growth factors, neurotransmitters, and G protein-coupled receptors. With a length of 1132 amino acids, INPP5F exhibits 5-phosphatase activity specifically targeting phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-triphosphate, thereby modulating key signaling pathways such as the Akt/GSK-3β pathway by reducing the phosphorylation of Akt and GSK-3β. INPP5F is ubiquitously expressed, with particularly high levels found in the brain, heart, skeletal muscle, and kidney, highlighting its importance in various physiological processes. While most inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatases contain two conserved motifs essential for their enzymatic activity, INPP5F lacks these motifs, suggesting that phosphatase activity is localized within its SAC domain, indicating a novel mechanism of action among phosphoinositide 5-phosphatases.
