SEE ALSO...

Inhibin β-A Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Inhibin beta-A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Inhibin beta-A antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Inhibin beta-A protein plays a crucial role in regulating reproductive hormones, particularly in inhibiting follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion from the pituitary gland, which is vital for maintaining proper reproductive function and hormonal balance. Inhibin beta-A protein is predominantly expressed in the liver, uterus, and ovaries, where Inhibin beta-A protein participates in various physiological processes, including germ cell development and maturation, as well as erythroid differentiation. The balance between inhibins and activins is essential, as inhibins suppress FSH release while activins promote FSH release, thus influencing reproductive health and development. Inhibin beta-A protein is part of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily, which encompasses a wide range of growth and differentiation factors that are integral to embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis. Understanding Inhibin beta-A protein function and regulation is important for elucidating its role in reproductive biology and potential implications in fertility treatments and hormonal therapies.

Is the exact epitope sequence known, or is the antibody raised against the whole 307-426 peptide? This information is needed in order to know whether it would recognize a modified, shortened mature domain or not.

Asked by: Frakper
Thank you for your question. This antibody was raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 307-426. The exact epitope recognized by this mouse monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined.

What is the recommended secondary reagent for Western blot applications if I am working with human tissue samples?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using one of our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent, such as m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102, for Western blot. A complete list of all available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-8301 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.

Why is Inhibin β-A Antibody (E-1): sc-166503 the recommended alternative to the now discontinued Inhibin β-A (H-120): sc-50288?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The mouse monoclonal Inhibin β-A Antibody (E-1): sc-166503 is raised against the same immunogen sequence as the rabbit polyclonal Inhibin β-A (H-120): sc-50288. The monoclonal primary antibody also offers a higher degree of specificity and eliminates lot-to-lot variation. It is also warrantied for all of the same applications as the discontinued polyclonal antibody: WB, IP, IF, and ELISA. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
