    SEE ALSO...

ING2 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ING2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ING2 (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ING2, also known as Inhibitor of Growth Protein 2, is a 280 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene ING2 and is a member of the ING family, characterized by the presence of a PHD-type zinc finger. ING2 plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth and apoptosis, particularly through involvement in the activation of the tumor suppressor p53/TP53 and the associated apoptotic pathways. ING2′s ability to enhance p53/TP53 acetylation is vital for function, as this promotes p53/TP53 transcriptional activity, essential for cellular responses to stress and DNA damage. ING2 is predominantly localized in the nucleus, where ING2 associates with chromatin and the nuclear matrix, and ING2 activity is modulated by binding to phosphoinositides, which can influence localization and function. ING2 expression is significantly elevated in colon cancer tissues compared to normal colon tissues, and ING2 can be induced by DNA-damaging agents such as etoposide and neocarzinostatin, highlighting potential roles in cancer biology and therapeutic responses.
