Importin-12 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Importin-12 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Importin-12 antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Importin-12, also known as Transportin-3 or Transportin-SR, plays a crucial role in nuclear transport of serine/arginine-rich proteins, which are essential for mRNA splicing and regulation. Importin-12 is primarily located in cytoplasm and nucleus, where Importin-12 facilitates import of splicing factors such as SFRS1 and SFRS2 by recognizing their phosphorylated RS domains. Importin-12′s ability to mediate transport of these splicing factors is vital for maintaining proper gene expression and cellular function, as this process ensures necessary components for mRNA processing are available in nucleus. Through regulation of nucleocytoplasmic transport of these critical proteins, Importin-12 serves as a key transcriptional regulator, influencing overall dynamics of gene expression and cellular responses.
