SEE ALSO...

IMPDH Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects inosine-5′-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 (IMPDH1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IMPDH1, a member of the guanosine monophosphate reductase (GMPR) family, plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth by catalyzing the rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides, which are essential for DNA and RNA synthesis. IMPDH1 is predominantly expressed in normal leukocytes, while IMPDH2 is more prevalent in various tumors, highlighting IMPDH1′s significance in both normal physiology and cancer biology. IMPDH1 forms a homotetramer that is widely distributed in photoreceptors, where IMPDH1 is involved in cyclic nucleoside metabolism, a process vital for maintaining cellular function and signaling. Mutations in IMPDH1 have been linked to autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa type 10 (RP10) and the development of malignant tumors, with studies indicating that protein misfolding and aggregation, rather than reduced enzymatic activity, contribute to the severe phenotypes observed in these conditions. IMPDH1 presents a promising therapeutic target, particularly through strategies that involve simultaneous suppression of IMPDH1 transcripts while supplementing guanosine triphosphate (GTP) in retinal tissues, potentially offering new avenues for treatment in related disorders.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with IMPDH (D-3): sc-365171?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
