IMPDH Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IMPDH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IMPDH Antibody (F-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Inosine-5′-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 (IMPDH1), a member of the guanosine monophosphate reductase family, plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth by catalyzing the rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides. IMPDH1 is predominantly expressed in photoreceptors, where IMPDH1 is essential for cyclic nucleoside metabolism, highlighting IMPDH1′s importance in maintaining cellular function and integrity. Notably, while IMPDH1 is the primary isoform found in normal leukocytes, IMPDH2 is more prevalent in various tumors, indicating a potential shift in metabolic pathways during oncogenesis. Mutations in IMPDH1 have been linked to autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa type 10 (RP10) and the development of malignant tumors, with studies suggesting that protein misfolding and aggregation, rather than reduced enzymatic activity, contribute to the severe phenotypes observed in these conditions. Consequently, IMPDH1 presents a promising therapeutic target, particularly through strategies that involve the simultaneous suppression of IMPDH1 transcripts alongside the supplementation of guanosine triphosphate in retinal tissues.
