IL-11 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects interleukin-11 (IL-11) in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-11 is a pleiotropic cytokine that plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis and immune regulation, particularly in the proliferation of primitive hematopoietic progenitor cells. Anti-IL-11 antibody (A-7) recognizes IL-11 secreted by stromal cells, which is essential for expanding CD34+ cell populations vital for effective blood cell formation and immune responses. The human IL-11 protein is initially synthesized as a 199 amino acid precursor that includes a 21 amino acid hydrophobic signal peptide, which is cleaved to produce a biologically active glycosylated form. IL-11 exerts effects by binding to interleukin-11 receptor (IL-11R), which consists of an IL-11 receptor-specific chain (IL-11Rα) and gp130 signal transducing component, common to several other cytokine receptors. Upon receptor activation, Janus tyrosine kinases JAK1 and JAK2 are recruited and activated, leading to nuclear translocation of transcription factors Stat1 and Stat3, which mediate downstream effects of IL-11. IL-11 monoclonal antibody (A-7) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying IL-11′s role in various biological processes and diseases, including implications in inflammatory responses and hematological disorders.
