IGFBP3 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 113-210 of human IGFBP3, capable of detecting both precursor and mature forms of IGFBP3 in human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IGFBP3, also known as Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3 or IBP3, is the most abundant IGF-binding protein in human serum and plays a crucial role in modulating the activity of insulin-like growth factors IGF-I and IGF-II. Structurally, IGFBP3 consists of conserved N-terminal and C-terminal domains and a variable mid-region, which are essential for high-affinity binding to IGFs and interaction with other molecules. This structure allows IGFBP3 to form a ternary complex with IGFs and the acid-labile subunit (ALS), extending the half-life of IGFs in circulation and regulating bioavailability to target tissues. The regulation of IGF activity by IGFBP3 is important for controlling cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis, and metabolism, making IGFBP3 a significant factor in growth and developmental processes.
