IGF-IRα Antibody (24-55) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that recognizes insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) in human samples through immunoprecipitation (IP) and flow cytometry (FCM) applications. IGF-IR is a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for regulating cellular growth, survival, and differentiation. IGF-IR activation by insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) initiates signaling cascades crucial for cellular proliferation and metabolism, making IGF-IR significant in normal physiology and cancer development. IGF-IR resides on the cell membrane, functioning as a transmembrane molecular scaffold to facilitate interactions with downstream signaling proteins including Shc, GRB2, and Sos 1. These interactions activate Ras and ERK kinase pathways, influencing gene expression and cellular responses.
