IGF-IRα Antibody (1H7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IGF-IRα in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). IGF-IRα monoclonal antibody (1H7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) plays a crucial role as a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that regulates essential cellular processes such as growth, survival, and differentiation. Located on the cell membrane, IGF-IRα is activated by its ligand, insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), which triggers a cascade of intracellular signaling pathways, including the Ras and ERK pathways, ultimately influencing gene expression and cellular behavior. IGF-IRα′s location in the cell membrane enables rapid communication between extracellular signals and intracellular responses, facilitating timely cellular adaptations to growth factors. The human IGF-IR gene is located on chromosome 15q26.3 and encodes a precursor protein that is cleaved into α and β subunits, highlighting the complexity and regulatory mechanisms involved in its function.

I am interested in the IGF-IRα Antibody (1H7): sc-461. my understanding is that it is made by hybridoma. Would it be possible that I could purchase the cell line so that I can make the antibody in house?

Asked by: Stephen Atkins
Thank you for question. We do not license our antibodies or sell the hybridoma. Please contact our Special Orders Department to inquire about the possibility of a bulk order for this antibody. Email us at specialorders@scbt.com. Or you can call us directly at (800) 457-3801 option 2.

How can IGF-IRα (1H7): sc-461 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: cjMara
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-461 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-461 FITC).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IGF-IRα expression in lungI tried several from other companies. None of them worked. See the photo for the staining of this one in lung. The staining itself looks good, but I had expected more cells to be stained.
