IGF-IR Antibody (7G11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IGF-IR in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-IGF-IR antibody (7G11) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in research. The insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) plays a crucial role as a receptor tyrosine kinase, influencing a variety of cellular processes such as growth, survival, and differentiation. Located on the cell membrane, IGF-IR is activated by insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), which triggers a cascade of intracellular signaling pathways vital for cellular responses to growth factors. IGF-IR′s ability to modulate cell proliferation and inhibit apoptosis is particularly important in cancer, as aberrant IGF-IR signaling can contribute to tumor growth and resistance to therapy. The human IGF-IR gene, located on chromosome 15q26.3, encodes a precursor protein that is cleaved into α and β subunits, which are essential for functional activity. Thank you for your question. Anti-IGF-1 Receptor/IGF1R Antibody (7G11): sc-81464 is only recommended for detection of IGF-IR of mouse, rat and human origin by WB and IP. We have not tested the antibody's blocking properties and cannot say whether it would be suitable for your planned experiment.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of avian origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?
