    SEE ALSO...

IgD chain C Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IgD chain C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IgD chain C (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IgD chain C protein, an allelic product of the human IGHD gene, plays a crucial role in the adaptive immune system, primarily expressed as a monomer by activated B cells. IgD chain C protein consists of three immunoglobulin-like domains and is located on chromosome 14 within the human heavy chain locus, specifically positioned on the 3′ side of the IgM chain C region. The structural arrangement of IgD chain C protein is significant as it influences the alternative splicing mechanisms that determine whether B cells express IgD or IgM, which are vital for the immune response. Notably, IgD chain C protein has been linked to the regulation of B cell activation and may impact bone resorption during infectious events, highlighting its importance in immune responses.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using IgD chain C (C-5): sc-393519?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
